the great grammar debate.

actually, there is nothing to debate.  this is crap you learned in elementary school for crying out loud! students earning an MFA degree in English may especially appreciate these images.

{i’m not perfect when it comes to grammar.  but, i DO know the difference between all of the following…}

still don’t get it?  seriously, what is so hard about remembering this stuff?  i don’t know if it’s the educator in me or my anal tendencies {i’m a virgo, yo!}, but the your/you’re thing really gets on my nerves.

english wasn’t my favorite subject in school.  i hated conjugating verbs in french class. grammar rules – even now – sometimes confuse me.  hell, i type my blog posts in lower case letters!  i might not always do a great job of proofreading my blog posts, but come on, people…let’s get this right.

and if not?

well…

just remember:

psst…i linked up with michelle from the vintage apple today for

you should, too.

meet delia.

she came to our home a few weekends ago.

she used to belong to my great-grandmother, delia.

delia came with all kinds of goodies.

i have yet to explore all of sewing notions & spools of threads she came with.

i’ve been assured that delia is still in good, working condition.

but i am intimidated by her.

majestic.

strong.

faithful.

the needle is still threaded.

she’s covered in cobwebs & dust.

oh, the stories this machine could tell.

burning rubber.

someone on the twit said they couldn’t be friends with anyone who is a NASCAR fan.  why?  because that tweeter said she had standards.

um, i have standards, too.  but, guess what?  i’m also a NASCAR fan.

{bet you didn’t see that one coming…or maybe you did.  the NASCAR thing, not the standards thing.}

in our home, there are only two sports seasons:  professional football & stock car racing.

the 54th running of the daytona 500 takes place on sunday afternoon.  adam & i will be in our finest attire {read: jeans, a tee & a dale, jr. ball cap} rooting for this guy:

not gonna lie…that beard makes me miss adam’s winter beard.  which, i might also add, helps me overlook the fact that rootin’ for junior is like rooting for adam’s favorite nfl team, the redskins.  yeah, we’re eternal optimists, i suppose.

as darrell waltrip would say, “boogity! boogity! boogity! let’s go racin’, boys!”

better together.

eighteen years ago, i started dating a boy {february 23, 1994}.

ten years ago, i became that boy’s wife {february 23, 2002}.

happy anniversary to someone who has seen me at my worst

&

loved me regardless.

our marriage has seen highs & lows.
we’ve fought hard,
but LOVE harder.

we really are…
better together.
