...only better. a WHOLE lot better. {oh, you're not saying to yourself, "oh, rexy, you're so sexy!" ??  clearly, you've never seen empire records.  shame on you.} a couple weekend's ago i drove through a monsoon late afternoon storm to get my hands on a couple of tickets for a book signing. a book signing that i found out about at the very last minute. a book signing that i didn't even know if i could attend. a book signing for a book that i didn't even own...yet {gotta love amazon prime's spot on shipping!}. a couple weekend's ago, i sat on the floor of a local bookstore and waited. and waited. and waited. and waited. fortunately, i wasn't alone.  this girl & that girl were in line with me.  we were armed with our books.  and coffee...lots of … [Read more...]

i don't know about you, but i feel like 2012 is the year of the baby.  i know it's going to be an exciting year for me & my family.  no, i'm not pregnant {and shame on you if you thought i was}.  but, i am going to be an aunt.  and, one of the things i'm looking forward to - you know, besides spoiling my nephew & buying every cute baby boy outfit i can find - is sending out birth announcements. what?  i'm not the one having a baby, but i'm going to send out birth announcements??  yes, you read that right. when i had my first child waaaaaaay back in 2001, my mother-in-law {at the time} did something for me that not only save me money, but it also saved me time:  she sent out my daughter's birth announcements for me.  i told her which design in liked, gave her a list of … [Read more...]

oh, you didn't read tuesday's post?  i'll pause a moment while you read it... 3. 2. 1. sense a theme? eh, it's {ONLY} thursday, but it's ok... that i freaked the freak out about school this week.  mama needed a good cry.  and, boy, did i cry. to feel like i'm failing at this wife & mother thing.  this week has been rough, y'all.  {this is why michelle + stress do not get along.} that we're not celebrating malia's birthday {it was this past monday, by the way} until the 24th.  that's her only lacrosse-free weekend this month so we're having a cupcake decorating party.  yay! to wonder how i'll be able to make it to the pioneer woman's book signing this saturday.  we have a lacrosse game out of town & the book signing is at 2pm.  {of course, i won't be going to … [Read more...]
