virginia beach – live the life {sponsored post}

virginia beach.

it’s not only my home, but it’s also a vacation destination for so many people.  i’ve lived in virginia beach for over 25 years and i can personally attest that there is so much to see and so much to do in virginia beach.  i’m not lying when i say there is something for everyone. everyone.

located in the southeastern part of virginia, virginia beach is a mere four hour drive {on a good traffic day} from our nation’s capital, washington, d.c.  two-thirds of the united states’ population lives within a day’s drive of virginia beach.

so, what are you waiting for?

when i say virginia beach has it all, we have it all:

  • beaches:  we’ve got plenty to choose from.  my personal favorite?  sandbridge.  of course, i live a mere twenty minutes from the sleepy, little “village,” so i am just a bit biased.
  • outdoor activities:  if the beach isn’t your thing or you want a change from your usual vacation, virginia beach offers many different outdoor activities from kayaking in back bay, deep sea fishing on a charter out of rudee inlet, whale watching, camping, golf & even parasailing.  the outdoor possibilities are seemingly endless.
  • history & museums:  whether you’re into aviation, animals, military, lighthouses, or historical homes, you’ll find something to suit your interest in virginia beach.
  • entertainment:  there is NO shortage of live entertainment in virginia beach, especially during the warm summer months.  you can hear live music at the oceanfront all summer long.  or, catch a show at the amphitheater.
  • food:  hungry?  virginia beach has got you covered.  not only is our local seafood divine, but virginia beach is home to some pretty fine dining and some spectacular chefs, too.
virginia beach is also very close to a lot of other sites you might want to see in the area like colonial williamsburg, norfolk naval base, busch gardens…
but, you can {and will!} certainly spend your entire vacation enjoying the beauty and wonder of virginia beach.  even your children will be excited.  virginia beach is home to ocean breeze and the virginia aquarium – two must see places if you’re bringing children with you.
perhaps one of the things that i love so much about virginia beach is that the city is so diverse.  virginia beach is the perfect balance of urban, suburban and rural living.  there is no true downtown area, but if you are not a fan of the hustle & bustle, you can quickly escape to the countryside of pungo and back bay.  you can pick your own strawberries by day and be shaking your groove thing at a club by nightfall.
like i said, there is something for everyone.
when it’s time to plan your next vacation, why don’t you give virginia beach a shot?  here are a few links that can provide you with a bit more information:
you can also like virginia beach’s facebook page:

and, you can follow the virginia beach convention & visitor’s bureau on twitter.

again, i may be biased because i live here, but i honestly believe that once you visit virginia beach you will find yourself wanting to come back.  we’re fun, family-friendly, and affordable.  give virginia beach a shot…you won’t be disappointed.
