mother's day came and went without incident. a day to celebrate me - you know, the mom - was not unlike any other day. i didn't have breakfast in bed nor did i sleep in. i was not off duty: i still did the laundry, worked in the yard & refereed a couple of petty arguments. but, i did get a bit of a break. we harnessed the dogs, i grabbed my camera & we drove fifteen minutes from our home to a place we love... the beach. we walked. the dogs chased birds. we got our ankles wet in the chilly water. and i snapped candid pictures of my family. i'm always behind the lens.  rarely am i ever in front of it. {which is kind of disappointing because i'm a total ham for the camera.} but, being behind the lens gives me time to think. i struggle with wants and needs. i want … [Read more...]
