you’ll probably think less of me when i tell you that…

  • i’ve never watched an episode of teen mom, the bachelor, the bachelorette, gossip girl, or any of the other shows that y’all talk about.  housewife what?  baby daddy who?  red rose where?  yeah, i am that girl who is not up to speed with the latest {and greatest?} on television.
  • i’ve never used a lawn mower.  ever.  i don’t even know how to start one.  and?  i have no desire to learn.  ever.
  • i do not grill.  don’t get me wrong, i love grilled foods, but you won’t ever catch ME doing the grilling.  just like the lawn mower thing, i have NO desire to learn how to ignite or cook on a grill.  my only grilling responsibility is to ask adam {about eight million times} if he’s turned off the gas.
  • i don’t clean my house on the regular.  this sounds bad, but it’s really not.  promise.  i don’t follow a cleaning schedule.  i don’t do any of the fly lady stuff.  come over unannounced and, not only will i hate you, but you’ll also see my living room in it’s normal state of disarray.
  • i don’t always separate the laundry when i wash our clothes.  whites & colors?  yep, they’re hanging out together during the spin cycle.
  • i also don’t always put the laundry away.  it’s not unusual to see two or three baskets of folded laundry sitting in my bedroom.  hell, just consider yourself lucky that i even moved the baskets from the living room to the bedroom!
  • as much as i love getting a mani/pedi, i prefer doing my nails at home because i think i paint my nails better than some of the ladies at the salon.  there’s nothing more disappointing than looking down at your freshly scrubbed & massaged feet only to realize that it looks like a three year-old applied the nail polish.  not cool.
  • i drive a minivan. ha ha ha!
  • i see nothing wrong with going back to school for a second bachelors degree {in psychology} if i am not able to land a teaching job when i finish graduate school in may.
  • i feel more comfortable hanging out with a group of guys than i do with a group of girls.
these certainly aren’t any of the skeletons hiding in my closet, but they do give you more of an idea about just who i am.  is there anything that you would like to share?  {you know, about you…not me…ha ha ha!}

  1. LOL Most of those things I can say the same for, especially since I’m sitting beside 3 baskets of clean laundry that I may never fold and put away!

  2. I don’t watch most of those shows either. And laundry never gets put away in our house. That is probably the hubs and I’s biggest argument. I just HATE folding laundry.

  3. I hate unannounced visitors! Or last minute, short notice visitors. I’m anal about having my house picked up when people come over (not perfect but at least dishes done and floor vacuumed) and D’s parents are notorious for calling up that day/afternoon and saying they’re coming up to go to Home Depot or whatever and then I’m pissed because I have to rush to clean. lol. I don’t know why it bothers me so much to have a cleanish house for visitors.

I mix colors & whites all the time too and we always have baskets of clothes sitting around. It drives me nuts but it’s so hard to get motivated to put them away!

And I’m definitely with you on hanging with guys. I love hanging with D’s friends. Less drama/gossip/two-facing and more laughs. :-)

  4. And I love you for all of these things. Especially the cleaning. And laundry (clean) yet ALL OVER MY HOUSE.

We still need to figure out a gel system to buy! One of my nails chipped last night and I cursed for a good 3 minutes straight about it.

  5. I don’t watch any of those shows either. I’m glad I’m not the only one! My clothes go straight from my body to the washing machine – no color seperating. :-)

I do, however, like to grill!

  6. I mix my laundry (and don’t put it away) just like you As for the cleaning schedule, if I didn’t get paid $100 every other week to do it I probably would put it off til the dust was choking me.

  7. I can’t clean on a schedule either. I tried this whole family binder business that everyone loves and made a calendar. It went by the wayside pretty quickly. I need to be in the mood for certain chores and not every day is a dusting day or a bathrooms day.

  8. Ditto to the TV shows, laundry not getting put away, doing nails at home, and hanging with dudes.
I think we’d get along just fine in real life.

  9. oh i can relate to so many of those! the mani/pedi, cleaning sched & just about everything else. you are one smart lady!

  10. I don’t separate my colors from whites either….99% of the time, there’s a basket of clean laundry on the floor in the laundry room. And the whole cleaning schedule….trying that out now….haven’t decided how well it’s working though…love your blog, by the way. :)
