MOMMY, ARE YOU LISTENING?

My son asked me that today as we were driving to his sister's school to pick her up. He was telling me a story about how one of his friend's hurt his feelings this morning in class. I was paying attention to the traffic in front of me and humming to a song that was on the radio. I was listening to him, but certainly my attention was not completely directed towards him.And he called me out.I'm not going to lie. I don't always pay attention to my children. It doesn't make me a bad mother...it makes me a smart mother.
