{semi} wordless wednesday: ranunculus

in the spirit of budgeting, getting out of debt & saving money, i bought a new camera.  doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it?  didn't think so.  but, i couldn't pass this camera up.  for those of you who know me well, you know i've been yearning for a fancier camera.  you probably also know where i bought it from {today's special value?  yes, please!}.  but, yeah, about that qvc thing...that's a whole 'nother blog topic.anyways, about the camera.  it's in between a point & shoot and a DSLR...it's a 'tweener!  i haven't played around with the manual settings yet, but i'm really enjoying the auto setting.  i tested out the camera by taking pictures of the ranunculus clippings i bought last week while at trader joe's.{i edited these pictures with adobe photoshop … [Read more...]

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday – It’s Electrifying!

It's hard to believe that he'll be SIX in just nine short days. Seems like it was just yesterday that I took this picture of Aidan after he came down the slide in our backyard. I miss all of that hair. I miss how blonde he used to be. I miss his chubby 2.5 year old cheeks. He's still got that goofy grin. He still has some pretty lovable cheeks. Wordless/Wordful Wednesday – TUNA FEVER

How does the saying go...a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work? Well, this was a PHENOMENAL day of fishing for us! We caught our limit of tuna (Big Eye and Yellowfin) BEFORE noon and were back at the dock by lunchtime to show off our catch! Nearly 900 pounds of tuna was caught and, yes, I still have packages of vacuum-sealed tuna in my deep freeze.We went fishing out of Oregon Inlet, NC on the Tuna Fever last August. It was MY first time ever deep sea fishing and let's just say I'm hooked. I was the lone female on boat full of testosterone and, wouldn't you know, out of the two tuna I reeled in one was a 76 pound citation yellowfin tuna!
